CRUEL INTENTIONS is an exhibition about the cruel mind, cruel emotions in life...
How it sneaks in our life, how we get on with it.
This kind of cruelty exists. Whether we like it or not. It can be subtle or right into your face, often hidden under a dusty layer for fake beauty. Without darkness there isn't sushine, without these cruel intentions, we don't see the beauty of life.
This exhibitions brings a group of young and upcomming Belgium artists together. In their work their show us their own way of cruel intention, with humour and delicateness…
But isn't every piece of art an expression of a cruel intention?
For this exhibition I made 2 huge drawings from 3m high on 1,5m...connected with 7m paper on the floor...on the floor there were small drawings of rasberries, and people had to walk on the paper, so there footmarks made a part of the work...
The visitors joined the work as a cruel interaction, a cruel intention...
