Pony Post Performance
performance and regie from ‘Pony-Post’ at the Vooruit in Ghent(B)
on ‘ War is no Art', actions against the war in Irak. In this performance I give a reaction on my roots in Ypres, the city of death soldiers form the two big world Wars. I show a reflection what is so strange about the tourism after a big war…
Performance about the absurdism from tourism after a great war, like the tourism in the small city Ypres, where every night since 1937, you have the Las Post at the monument with all the missing soldiers who died in World War I in Ypres.
Every night at 8pm, a lot of tourists arrive in Ypres for the last post and for bying chocolats. The whole city lives from this obscure sugar reaction tourism.
Three best friends originally from Ypres, who only have a connection when the artist is in their neigbourhood, pose for a frozen death picture, smiling for 10 minutes. The smile becomes a mask, a killing one. The picture never comes. The friendship doesn't really exist. They all have a different smile...
